Paris-Move & Blues Magazine : "Suds" : l’album est somptueux / "Suds" : The album is lush!

"Quand on réalise que Viktor Lazlo n’avait plus sorti d’album depuis 2011 on se demande rétrospectivement comment on a pu survivre sans elle, sa fabuleuse voix et de nouvelles chansons. Toujours est-il qu’elle nous revient (enfin) aujourd’hui et avec elle tout le plaisir de l’écoute dès les premières notes et le son de sa voix! 

C’est elle qui a écrit les textes des 13 morceaux, excepté “Bukowski” qu’elle a composé et qu’elle interprète avec le grand jazzman qu’est David Linx. Les musiques ont été composées par Khalil Chahine à l’exception de “No Mercy” à laquelle Viktor Lazlo contribue également. 

Côté musiciens nous sommes servis, car les talents sont au rendez-vous: Khalil Chahine est aux guitares, Felipe Cabrera à la contrebasse, Arnaud Dolmen à la batterie, Inor Sotolongo aux percussions, Christophe Cravero au piano et au sax alto, Stéphane Chausse aux clarinettes et aux flûtes, William Brunard au violoncelle, Leonord de Recondo au violon, Analuna Chahine au violon et David Linx au chant sur le titre composé à deux. 

Première réaction après la première écoute: l’album est somptueux! 

Les morceaux sont de véritables écrins merveilleusement joués pour accueillir la voix sensuelle et chaude de la fort jolie chanteuse. Signalons deux titres, sur lesquels la chanteuse utilise un peu (quelques lignes) le créole pour s’exprimer. Elle mentionne alors la complicité de la journaliste chanteuse Marijosé Alie qui, comme elle, est d’origine martiniquaise par l’un de ses parents. Pour mémoire, elle est également auteure de romans, La Femme qui Pleure, en 2010, et interprète dans un spectacle d’Eric Emmanuel Schmit sur la vie de Billie Holiday, My Name is Billie Holiday, en 2012, Les Passagers du Siècle, en 2018 ; et
Trafiquants de colères, paru en janvier 2020.

′′ When you realize that Viktor Lazlo hasn't  released an album since 2011, you wonder how we could ever survive without her, her fantastic voice and new songs. Still, today (finally) comes back to us and with all the listening pleasure from the first notes and the sound of her voice! She wrote the texts for all 13 songs, except ′′ Bukowski ", which she composed and performs with the great jazzman David Linx. The music was composed by Khalil Chahine with the exception of ′′ No Mercy ′′ to which Viktor Lazlo also contributes. As for the musicians, we are being served, because the talents are here: Khalil Chahine on guitar, Felipe Cabrera on double bass, Arnaud Dolmen on drums, Inor Sotolongo on percussion, Christophe Cravero on piano and altsax, Stephane Chausse on clarinets and flutes, William Brunard on cello, Leonord de Recondo on violin, Analuna Chahine on violin and David Linx on vocals on the title composed for two. First reaction after the first listen: the album is lush! The pieces are real jewelry, beautifully played to welcome the sensual and warm voice of the very beautiful singer. Let's name two titles, on which the singer uses a little (single lines) Creole to express himself. She then mentions the complicity of singer journalist Marijos é Alie who, like her, is of Martinican origin through one of her parents. For the record, she is also the author of novels, La Femme qui Pleure, in 2010, and is featured in a show by Eric Emmanuel Schmit about the life of Billie Holiday, My Name is Billie Holiday, in 2012, Class Passagers du Si ècle, in 2018."
